BURLINGTON, Vt. – Rory Twomey has re-joined the Vermont men's soccer staff as an assistant coach for the 2023 campaign. Twomey was a member of the coaching staff in 2021 when the Catamounts captured their sixth America East Championship.

Twomey returns to Catamount Country after one season as an assistant coach at St. Lawrence. The Saints were Liberty League Champions in 2022, and advanced to the Second Round of the Division III NCAA Tournament. St. Lawrence finished the season with a 13-2-6 (6-0-3) mark.
Prior to St. Lawrence, Twomey was on the Vermont staff for two seasons (2020-21, 2021), with the Catamounts amassing an 18-7-2 (10-2-2 AE) record. He served as Director of Operations, before earning a promotion to assistant coach with the Cats. In his second season at Vermont, the Catamounts captured the 2021 America East crown with a thrilling 1-0 victory over top-seeded New Hampshire. Twomey was heavily involved with team logistics, recruiting, and scouting while on the UVM staff.
Twomey is a 2019 graduate of Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The South Windsor, Connecticut native played four seasons for the Monks, starting in 82 of 85 games played. Twomey served as team captain in 2018. He received three All-GNAC accolades and guided the Monks to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
