BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (6-7, 2-2 AE) hosts Bryant (5-10, 1-3 AE) on Friday (Oct. 25) for the Catamounts annual Spread Respect Game. The game will start at 3 p.m. and be streamed live on AmericaEast.TV with Brian McLaughlin on the call.

SPREAD RESPECT INITIATIVE
Spread Respect is an initiative that was developed by the America East Conference to raise awareness to ensure equality and safety for all student-athletes, coaches and fans without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity. The Spread Respect initiative began during the 2019-2020 campaign and continues through all sports presented by the America East Conference.
VERMONT OUTLOOK
- Vermont hosted UMass Lowell and Merrimack last weekend and finished the weekend undefeated. They defeated UMass Lowell, 3-1 and Merrimack, 7-0. The win over the River Hawks was the Catamounts first in five years.
- Marie Dijkstra led the Vermont offense with seven points on the weekend with two goals and three assists. Her 21 points are third most in America East and her seven goals and assists are seventh and sixth in the conference respectively.
- Sophia Drees and Meg Weyer each finished the weekend with five points on two goals and an assist each. Drees's assist in the 34th minute against UMass Lowell also broke the all-time UVM assists record when she tallied her 26th.
- Lotte Kanters, Sophia Lefranc, Ellie Reed, and Lauren Schellhamer all recorded tallies for Vermont. Kanters, Alicia Battistelli, and Kate Stockwell were the others to record assists.
- Merle Vaandrager was named America East Defensive Player of the week for the third time this season after going 2-0 and only giving up one goal during the weekend.
- The Catamounts have a current goals per game average of 2.62 and are taking 15.1 shots per game on average. Compared to last season's average of 2.44 goals per game and 11 shots per game, Vermont's offensive production has leveled-up.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- Bryant comes to Moulton Winder Field after a 4-2 loss to Colgate last Sunday.
- Freshman, Eva Boogers leads Bryant in points with 15 on the season.
- Sophomore, Sara DeSousa and freshman, Maud van Lierop protect the cage for the Bulldogs, often sharing time during matches. DeSousa has a goals against average of 2.86 and a save percentage of 0.714. Van Lierop has a goals against average of 2.07 and a save percentage of 0.745.
- The last time the Catamounts and Bulldogs met was during the 2023 season, ending in a 5-1 win for Vermont. Goals on the day came from Lilly Leiprecht, Alina Gerke, Kanters (2), and Maddie Moran.
- Olivia Clarke scored the lone goal on that day for the Bulldogs.
