Field Hockey Travels to Dartmouth for Non-Conference Matchup

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont (3-6, 1-1 AE) travels to Hanover, NH on Sunday (Oct. 6) to take on Dartmouth (2-5, 0-2 Ivy). The game will start at 1:00 p.m. and be streamed live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK

The Catamounts split their games last weekend. They fell to Maine on Friday, 3-1, despite outshooting the Black Bears 13-3 in the second half. Vermont then defeated Stonehill, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The five goals is a season high for the Catamounts and moves them to 22-0 when they score at least four goals under Kate Pfeifer. They have accomplished this feat 17 times now since 2019.
Maddie Priestly was Vermont's leading scorer on the weekend, scoring two goals against Stonehill. Meg Weyer, Marie Dijkstra, Lotte Kanters, and Ellie Reed also scored for the Catamounts. Dijkstra (2), Weyer, Sophia Drees, Reed, and Lauren Schellhamer all had assists.
Merle Vaandrager was named America East Defensive Player of the Week after not allowing a goal in 90 minutes of action and posting her first career shutout against Stonehill. She is the second Vermont player to earn this honor after Ila Gunner.
Dijkstra is the first Catamount with double-digit points this season after her four-point weekend gave her 12 for the season. Weyer has set a new career high in goals, while Reed recorded the first points of her career with her goal and assist against Stonehill.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN

The last time Vermont faced Dartmouth was in 2022. Vermont won 4-0 that day with goals from Sophia Lefranc, Haley Buffenbarger, Alina Gerke, and Priestly.
The Big Green are 2-5 this season. They split their two games last weekend, losing to Cornell 3-1 but defeating Bryant 3-2 in overtime to end the weekend. They will travel to Brown on Friday before they meet with the Catamounts.
Lucia Campaño leads Dartmouth in scoring with three goals and an assist. Ella Bowman and Gabriela Braceras are tied for second in scoring with six points each. Four other Big Green players have recorded multiple points this season as well.
Isabel Andrews and Kylie McKinley have split goalkeeping responsibilities this year for the Big Green. Andrews has made four starts and four appearances, while McKinley has played in four games with three starts. Andrews has recorded a 3.52 goals against average and .667 save percentage, compared to McKinley's 2.88 goals against average and .571 save percentage.
