VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts opened the season with a 62-46 victory over Missouri on Monday night.
- Anna Olson was the leading scorer with 18 points and seven rebounds. Bella Vito was the only other Vermont player in double figures with 13 points and six assists.
- Vito also recorded five steals and four rebounds for the Catamounts.
- The program's first victory was over an SEC school in 11 games.
- Vermont comes into their matchup with Minnesota 2-15 all-time against Big Ten schools. These two wins were in 2010 against Wisconsin, which earned them their first NCAA tournament win. The other win was last spring against Purdue in the WNIT quarterfinals when they won 67-59 and outscored the Boilermakers 44-30 in the second half.
- Olson was named to the Preseason All-Conference team for the fourth straight year after earning America East All-Defensive and Second Team All-Conference a year ago. The Monticello, Minn. native ranked second on the Catamounts, scoring 12.3 points per game during conference play and 11.6 overall.
- The Catamounts bring back two of their top five scorers in Olson (11.6 ppg) and Keira Hanson (8.1 ppg). 2022 America East Rookie of the Year Catherine Gilwee returns after missing all last season with an injury.
- The Catamounts added seven newcomers to its roster for the 2024-25 campaign. Five first-years and two transfers make up the new group. Sarah Ericson (St. Thomas Aquinas) and Julia Blanck (Skidmore) are the transfers. The five newcomers are Emma Haan, Natalie Beaudoin, Piper Risdon, Devon Yarde, and Savanna Creal.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
- Minnesota wrapped up 2023-24 with a record of 20-16 (5-13 B10) and lost in the WNIT championship.
- The Golden Gophers return all five of their leading scorers from a year ago, with leading scorers Mara Braun (17.0 ppg) and Amaya Battle (12.1 ppg) back.
- Minnesota placed three on the all-Big Ten teams a year ago. Amaya Battle and Mara Braun earned spots, while Grace Grocholski was named to the all-rookie team.
- The Golden Gophers also return their five leading rebounders, Mallory Heyer (8.6 RPG) and Sophie Hart (5.1 RPG). Hart and Heyer were also the fourth and fifth leading scorers, respectively.
