LEXINGTON, Va. – Hally Laney earned a pool and varsity record in the 100 fly to lead the way for the Catamounts who registered five podium finishes on Friday. With their day three surge the Catamounts moved into first place in the America East Championships with a score of 483. New Hampshire is in second with 451 points while Bryant is trailing right behind at 450 points to round out the top three. UMBC is in fourth with 327 points and Binghamton is in fifth with 322 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts began Friday's action with a second place finish in the 400 IM from Natalie Schlemmer. She earned a silver medal finishing in a time of 4:24.66. Kara Campbell placed third, earning a bronze medal, in the 400 IM finishing in 4:28.09. Madison Supple also finished seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.64.
- In the 100 fly Laney set the Clark King Pool and Vermont Varsity record while earning a gold medal in a time of 54.58. First year Jessica Drozdowski placed fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 55.78.
- Alexis Torykian placed fourth in the 100 back with a time of 55.97 while Emma Wainwright placed sixth finishing in 56.56.
- The Catamounts also earned a silver medal in the 200 free with Ella Church placing second in a time of 1:50.16. Emily Rocco (1:52.32) and Anastazja Szukala (1:53.23) placed sixth and seventh in the 200 free as well.
- Ellie Fazio earned a silver medal for Vermont placing second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.07.
- To conclude their night the Catamounts placed third in the 400 medley relay with the combination of Alexis Torykian, Fazio, Laney and Jackie House finishing in 3:45.04.
- This is the first time in program history that Vermont enters the final day of competition in first place.
