BOSTON – Four
Catamounts won races on Saturday as they officially opened the 2025-26 campaign at Northeastern's Barletta Natatorium. The Huskies won the season-opening dual meet for both teams by a score of 192-108.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first event of the morning first year Valeria Velez earned a second-place finish in three-meter diving with a score of 235.95. Fellow first year Robyn Tonomura-MacDonald was fourth in her collegiate debut in the event (219.0).
- Next up was the first relay of the season, the Catamounts quartet of Natalie Schick, Ellie Fazio, Gabby Puryear-Lynch and Havana Layton finished second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:47.69.
- In the third event of the day first year Amy Kenworthy placed second overall in the 1000 Free (10:32.09) in her collegiate debut.
- Fazio collected Vermont's first win of the campaign taking the 100 Breast in a time of 1:07.58. Topping the nearest Huskies swimmer by .11 seconds to claim the nine team points.
- Lauren Clark won the next event for UVM as well, finishing in 2:08.81 in the 200 Fly. Her UVM teammate Emma Freer was second in a time of 2:09.54.
- Layton won the 100 Free for the third time in her career with a time of 52.46, besting the field by .69 seconds.
- Schick, a Rutgers transfer, earned her first win in the green and gold claiming the 200 Back in a time of 2:06.14.

After a weekend off the Catamounts return to action on Saturday, October 18 as they host New Hampshire at 1 p.m. in a battle of the last two America East Champions. The meet will stream live for free on AmericaEast.TV
It is the Catamounts annual Rally Against Cancer Meet presented by Mascoma Bank. It is also Poster Day; the Catamounts will be signing Team Posters printed by UVM Print & Mail following the meet.
