PLAYOFF PICTURE
The Catamounts enter the final weekend of the season in seventh place in Hockey East with 34 points. If the playoffs started today, they would host Holy Cross on Wednesday, February 28 in the Opening Round. However, things are so tight in the league UVM can still finish as high as fifth or sixth and earn a first round bye, or as low as eighth. This weekends' matchups loom large with Vermont trailing the sixth-place team by just two points.
In the current playoff format the top six teams (with the top-four hosting) on the women's side receive a bye to the quarterfinals on March 2. The seven-seed hosts the 10-seed and the eight-seed hosts the nine-seed in the Opening Round of the playoffs.
The Opening Round, Quarterfinals and Semifinals will air exclusively on ESPN+. The Championship game will air on ESPNU on Saturday, March 9 at noon.
