INSIDE THE MATCHUP
- The Mountain Hawks are looking to snap a three-game losing streak Tuesday night. In their last action they fell 5-0 to Sacred Heart on Friday, September 6.
- Lehigh was picked tied for ninth in the 2024 Patriot League Preseason Poll.
- On September 2 Lehigh defender Trey Sheeler was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week. He scored the game-winning tally in the Mountain Hawks 1-0 win over Rider on August 26.
- The Mountain Hawks have scored just two goals in their five contests this season.
- The Catamounts are 2-0-1 in program history against the Mountain Hawks. Last year Vermont topped Lehigh 2-1 at Virtue Field with the game-winner coming from Max Murray. In their only previous meeting in Bethlehem UVM won 3-0 in 2021.
LOTS OF SHOTS AGAINST AMERICAN
- The Catamounts as a team tallied 25 total shots with 11 being on goal, season highs in both categories against American Saturday.
- Max Murray scored the game tying goal for Vermont, his first goal of the season, in 88th minute while playing all 90 minutes total on the field.
AT HOME IN THE KEYSTONE STATE
- Tuesday's matchup will be a homecoming for three Catamounts – Zach Barrett (Phoenixville, Pa.), Ryan Zellefrow (Berywn, Pa.) and Lou Liedtka (Wyncote, Pa.).
- The Catamounts are 4-2-2 all-time in the state of Pennsylvania.
WEST COAST TRIP
- The Catamounts went unbeaten on an eight-day road trip in California.
- Yaniv Bazini scored a goal at UC Irvine which resulted in a 1-1 tie.
- Maximilian Kissel's first goal of the season lifted Vermont to their first victory of the season (W, 1-0) over San Diego State on Monday night.
PRESEASON HONORS
- Vermont was selected as the preseason favorite by America East head coaches for the first time since 2008. The Catamounts picked up five of seven possible first-place votes and scored a total of 47 points in the poll.
- Yaniv Bazini, Max Murray, Adrian Schulze Solano, Sydney Wathuta, Zach Barrett, and Nick Lockermann took up six of a possible 11 spots on the America East Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Bazini was one of 16 NCAA Division I players named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List. The award is presented at the end of the season to the nation's top collegiate player.
