Track and Field Prepares for River Hawk Invitational

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont Track and Field will make the trip down to Boston for the second time this season. They will compete at the River Hawk Invitational on Jan. 24-25. The men will compete on the 24th at 10:00 a.m., with the women beginning at the same time on the 25th. Lancer Timing will provide the live results.

VERMONT WOMEN OUTLOOK

Carolena Bellini, Gabby Rausa, Hope Tyska, Cara Van de Meulebroecke, and Emma Wapshare will captain the women's squad.
Last weekend at the Middlebury Winter Classic, the women's side recorded seven individual victories and one relay win.
Ryleigh Garrow, MegAnne Gilmore (two), Isabella Fryer, Elizabeth Lembach, Erin Geib, Gianna Minehardt, and Annika Huber were the seven to record victories. The women's distance medley relay was also victorious.
Gilmore's winning times and Fryer's rank among the top 10 in the America East this season.
Last year at the River Hawk Invitational, the women recorded seven top-15 finishes, including a second-place finish from Kayla Myers.

VERMONT MEN OUTLOOK

Davis Cote, Knute Linehan, Kenneth Morrissey, Alex Siaton, and Jameson Sparks were selected as captains for the men's squad.
The men's 4x200 team of Siaton, Kyle Hoffman, Sam Dilberti, and Lukaas Nales set the program record by running 1:29.67, which is .02 faster than the record set last year.
Last weekend, the men put together four individual victories and two relay wins.
Siaton, James Cilwik, Hoffman, and Nathan Stine won four races. The relay wins were in the distance medley and the record-breaking 4x200.
Siaton's 60-meter winning time of 6.86 is a personal best and tied for second fastest in UVM history. It is also the fourth fastest in America East this season. Hoffman's 400-meter winning time is the seventh fastest in UVM history and ninth fastest in the conference this season.
Last year at the River Hawk Invitational, the men recorded seven top-15 finishes.
