BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (7-23-2, 6-17-2 HE) women's hockey gets set for the final weekend series of the regular season, taking on #14 Northeastern (19-12-1, 14-10-1 HE) on Friday (Feb. 21) and Saturday (Feb. 22) from Gutterson Fieldhouse. Friday's puck drop is slated for 2 p.m. while Saturday's Senior Day presented by MVP Health Care has puck drop scheduled for 1:30 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan on the call. On Friday, there will be free "Shiner" vouchers from Kountry Kart Deli for the first 100 students.

SENIOR DAY pres. MVP HEALTH CARE
Saturday night's contest will be senior day for seven Catamounts.

Alaina Tanski are the seven seniors who will be graduating in May 2025. Prior to the official puck drop to the game, there will be a ceremony presented by MVP Health Care at center ice for the seven graduating seniors.
PLAYOFF SCENERIO
- Vermont has the chance to clinch the eighth spot in Hockey East which would lock in a home opening round playoff game.
- The Catamounts currently sit in eighth place with 24 points while Holy Cross stands at ninth place with 23 points.
- Whichever team earns more conference points throughout their final weekend series of the regular season, will clinch the eighth seed and secure a home opening round playoff game.
- UVM finishes the regular season with two games against Northeastern while Holy Cross concludes with two games against Maine.
VERMONT OUTLOOK
- Vermont comes off a weekend seeing the Catamounts face Holy Cross on the road, falling in both contests. Julia Mesplède scored the lone goal for UVM over the weekend series while Rose-Marie Brochu and Oona Havana each tallied one assist.
- The last time Vermont faced Northeastern earlier this season was January 31 from Matthews Arena in Boston, MA. The Catamounts secured a 1-0 victory, seeing Ashley Kokavec score a game-winning goal while being shorthanded. Lara Beecher notched the assist on the game-winning goal while Correa and Ellie Simmons shared a combined shutout over the Huskies.
- Vermont is the only Hockey East school to score a shorthanded goal in back-to-back games this season.
- UVM has been solid in the faceoff circle this season, ranking 12th in the Nation in faceoff win percentage with a 52.3% success rate, good for third in Hockey East. Blais-Savoie is at the forefront of these wins for UVM, individually ranking seventh in the Nation and first in Hockey East with 392 total wins on the campaign.
- Vermont is the only Hockey East school that has two centers in the conference in the top 10 for most faceoffs won this season. Blais-Savoie sits alone at the top with 392 while Brochu rounds out the top 10 with 258 faceoff wins.
- UVM is one of five Hockey East schools that has two or more defenders with seven or more assists on the season so far, (Bent and Kokavec). Providence, UConn, Northeastern, and Boston University are the other four Hockey East schools.
- Vermont is one of five Hockey East schools to have two defenders with three or more goals, (Hailey Eikos and Kokavec). Northeastern, Providence, Boston College, and New Hampshire are the other four schools.
- Beecher leads the team in points, having 15 total points on a team high six goals and a tied team high nine assists.
- Beecher leads the team in shots, tallying 103 on the season thus far, good for fifth most in Hockey East.
- Kokavec leads all UVM blueliners in points, notching 13 points on four goals and a tied team high nine assists so far this season. Kokavec's 13 points is tied for sixth most among defenders in the Hockey East conference.
- Kokavec's 79 shots thus far is the third most by a defender in Hockey East to this point.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Northeastern is 19-12-1 overall on the season and 11-7-0 in Hockey East play.
- The Huskies hold an 11-7-0 home record and a 7-5-1 away record.
- In the Huskies last five games, Northeastern holds a 2-3 record seeing three of those five games go to overtime. Both Huskies' victories in their last five games came in overtime.
- Northeastern is led by senior forward Skylar Irving who has posted a team high 28 points on 12 goals and a team high 16 assists.
- Northeastern is also anchored by first year goaltender Lisa Jönsson who has posted a conference high seven shutouts, leads the conference with a .943 save percentage, and has the lowest goals against average at 1.46 a game.
- The Catamounts are 12-48-5 all-time against Northeastern. Vermont currently holds a four-game unbeaten streak vs the Huskies, going 3-0-1 in the last four meetings with Northeastern dating back to last season.
