BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont women's hockey program announced the incoming class poised to join the Catamounts for the 2025-26 season Friday afternoon. The incoming class consists of six first years and four transfers.
"I could not be more excited about the group that is entering this fall," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "We have a great mix of players from different backgrounds and experiences through both our transfers and first-year classes. There's a buzz around our group that is really fun, and I cannot wait to get started with this talented and motivated group of newcomers and returners."
#5 Sophia DeAnzeris | Fr. | Defense | Saratoga, N.Y. | Northwood School
DeAnzeris represented Northwood School over the last two seasons, playing in 34 JWHL games notching 11 points on five goals and six assists. During the 2023-24 season, the blueliner skated in 72 19U AAA games, registering 33 points. Played two seasons with fellow first year Hilary Wilkin at Northwood School.
#10 Stella Retrum | Jr. | Forward | Maple Grove, Minn. | Penn State (AHA)
Retrum skated in 74 games over two seasons at Penn State, totaling 41 points on 20 goals and 21 assists. The junior forward recorded a +/- rating of +35 throughout her first two seasons with the Nittany Lions. She most recently comes off a sophomore campaign skating in all 38 games, scoring nine goals and nine assists for 18 total points. Retrum competed in the National Tournament in both her first two seasons with Penn State.
#12 Lauren O'Hara | Jr. | Forward | Blaine. Minn. | Minnesota (WCHA)
O'Hara transfers to Vermont after playing in 77 total games for Minnesota in the WCHA. In each of her two seasons with the Golden Gophers, O'Hara played in all but two games during both campaigns. The junior forward tallied eight points on five goals and three assists, reaching the NCAA Tournament in both her first year and sophomore season with Minnesota.
#18 Darci Matson | Gr. | Forward | Wasilla, AK. | Aurora Univ. (NCHA)
Matson played three seasons with Aurora University in the NCHA (D III), skating in 77 total games. She recorded 141 total points on 73 goals and 68 assists. Matson led Aurora Univ. in goals and point during all three seasons with the Spartans. In 2021-22 she received AHCA Second Team All-American Honors, NCHA All-Conference honors, and was named the NCHA Freshman of the Year (appeared in 26 games, totaling 40 points on 23 goals and 17 assists). In 2022-23, Matson earned First Team All-American honors after a career season, scoring 31 goals and 33 assists, totaling 64 points in just 27 games played.
#30 Lily Prendergast | Fr. | Goaltender | Hanover, Mass. | Etobicoke Dolphins
Most recently played with the Etobicoke Dolphins in the OWHL U22 league. She started in 21 games posting a .922 save percentage and 1.38 goals against average. Prendergast recorded seven shutouts and earned a 19-2-0 record in between the pipes.
#31 Zoe Cliché | Fr. | Goaltender | Ottawa, Ontario | Nepean Wildcats
Played four seasons in the OWHL with the Nepean Wildcats. Most recently started in 20 games, posting a .927 save percentage and 2.04 goals against average. Cliché recorded four shutouts for the Wildcats last season.
#44 Lila Pannacciulli | Fr. | Forward | East Meadow, N.Y. | Lovell Academy
Skated in 80 games for Lovell Academy 19U AAA Prep last season, totaling 62 points on 34 goals and 28 assists. Prior to joining Lovell Academy, Pannacciulli captained her team at Millbrook School her junior year.
#71 Hilary Wilkin | Fr. | Forward | Halifax, Nova Scotia | Northwood School
Wilkin spent three seasons playing for Northwood School in the JWHL where she skated in 52 games totaling 41 points on 18 goals and 23 assists. In 2023-24, Wilkin skated in 58 games at the 19U AAA level, registering 53 total points on 21 goals and 32 assists. Wilkin played two seasons with fellow first year Sophia DeAnzeris and one year with junior defender
Natalie Zarcone in 2022-23.
#88 Makena Lloyd-Howe | Fr. | Forward | Tumbler Ridge, BC. | RINK HA Kelowna
Spent the last two seasons with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna in the CSSHL U18. Played in 60 games and scored 55 points on 16 goals and 39 assists. Lloyd-Howe also skated for U18 Team British Columbia, winning an NWC-U18 Bronze Medal in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
#93 Morgann Skoda | Jr. | Forward | Montreal, Quebec. | RPI (ECAC)
Skoda transfers to UVM after playing in 66 games over two seasons at RPI. She was tied for the most points on the team last season, scoring 19 points on nine goals and ten assists. In total, Skoda joins the Catamounts with a career 30 points scored on 15 goals and 15 assists. Last season, Skoda produced career high numbers in goals, assists, points, and shots on goal.
