BOSTON - Preseason polls for America East Men's and Women's Cross Country were announced Tuesday. Both Vermont teams were voted sixth with the men collecting 34 points and the women 32.

Voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own teams. Reigning America East Champions New Hampshire were picked as favorites in the women's poll collecting six first-place votes and 62 points. Bryant (50 points), Binghamton (48 points), and UMass Lowell (47 points) all received one first place vote. Maine was selected fifth with 37 points followed by Vermont in sixth, Bryant in seventh, UAlbany in eighth and NJIT in ninth. 
 
The UMass Lowell men won their fifth consecutive America East title in 2024 and received all eight possible first place votes, entering the 2025 fall as favorites. Binghamton were picked second with 52 points while Maine received one first-place tally, collecting 50 points in third. UMBC and New Hampshire were each handed 39 points in a tie for fifth with Vermont right behind in 6th. Bryant was picked seventh with UAlbany in eighth and NJIT in ninth.

The Catamounts open their season by hosting UMass Lowell on Saturday at Hard'ack Recreation Area starting with the women's race at noon.
