Catamounts Set for America East Championship Races Friday on ESPN+

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Catamount Cross Country teams head to Albany, New York for the America East Championship on Friday. The Women's 5k starts at 11am and the Men's 8k follows at 12pm. Both races will be streamed live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK

The Vermont Women are led to the conference championship event by freshman Zoey McNabb who has been named the America East Female Performer and Rookie of the Week three times this fall. McNabb won the New England Championship 5k race by 17 seconds with a time of 17:14.60. She also set a program record in the 6k with a 20:39.10 at the Gans Creek Classic in Missouri.
Siena Stanley enters the America East Championships coming off a dominant win at the Fall Foliage Invitational. She was 33 seconds quicker than any competitor, posting a 17:46.40. She was the top Catamount finisher at the 2025 America East Championship finishing in 14^th overall with a 18:03.30 earning All-Conference recognition.
Isabella Fryer has emerged as a consistent point scorer in a breakout fall for the cross country team. Her career best mark in the 5k came in the New England Championships at 18:15.50 and 21^st overall.
Lydia Donahue and Lila Pritham both scored points as freshman at the New England Championships and were in the top-ten at the Fall Foliage Invitational. Dylan Freidman is coming off the best mark of her freshman season with a sub-19 minute 5k last weekend in St. Albans. Niav Murphy finished sixth in her first career race against UMass Lowell. Mary Jane Thompson posed a sub-19 minute 5k at the New England Championships.
The six first years set to compete make up half of the Vermont participants in the Women's field.
Hannah Devine was just outside the points a year ago as a freshman and returns to the America East Championships for her sophomore season.
Ellery Klatka finished 46^th overall at last season's conference championships.
Grace DeLisle is the lone senior set to participate for the Vermont women. She has collected points for the Catamounts three times this year.
At the 2025 America East Championships the Vermont Women collected fourth place. The Vermont Men finished in sixth.
Will Locke picked up all-conference honors a year ago in the men's 8k with a time of 24:49.64, finishing 11^th overall. Now in his senior year, Locke has led the men again this season notably finishing in fifth at the New England Championships and earning America East Performer of the Week honors. His best 8k time of the year came at the Gans Creek Classic, clocking a 24:29.20.
Eamon Burke won the season opening event against UMass Lowell and picked up points at the New England Championships.
Bennett Harrison-Michaels, Tommy Wolfe, Patrick Mozden and Myles Napolitano all return as point scorers from last year conference championships. Henry Nasse is another returner who is coming off a sixth place finish at the Fall Foliage Invite.
Daniel Brennan led the way for Vermont at the Fall Foliage Invite in fifth place.
Will Just picked up a 14^th place finish at the New England Championships as the second Catamount to finish with a time of 25:21.30.
Darius Parker has also had a strong fall on a deep Vermont roster posting a 24:36.60 at the Gans Creek Classic and leading Vermont at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invite.
Nick Kidder snagged points for UVM at the Gans Creek Classic with his best time of the season at 25:06.80.
Josiah Conley is expected to be the lone freshman to compete for the Vermont men. His best performance of the year came in his debut race in fourth place against UMass Lowell.
