BURLINGTON, Vt. – On Saturday morning it was announced that Mayer Women's Basketball Coach
Alisa Kresge has accepted the head women's basketball coaching position at the University of Richmond. University of Vermont Director of Athletics
Jeff Schulman announced that Associate Head Coach Sacha Santimano will serve as Interim Head Coach.
Alisa Kresge concludes her tenure in Burlington, as the winningest coach in program history with an overall record of 145-89. She led the Catamounts to two America East regular season titles, three conference tournament championships and three NCAA Tournament berths in the last four seasons. The two-time America East Coach of the Year (2023, 2026) also led Vermont to the Fab Four of the WNIT in 2024. Kresge concludes her time at Vermont as the first coach in program history to lead Vermont to five straight seasons of 20 or more wins.
"On behalf of the Athletic Department and the entire UVM community, I want to thank Alisa for her exceptional leadership of our women's basketball program and for everything that she has contributed to Catamount Country over these past eight years," said Schulman. "Under her guidance, the program has reestablished itself as a mid-major power with a foundation of excellence centered around outstanding student-athletes whose character, leadership and talent embody the very best of college athletics on and off the court. We wish Alisa and Will all the best as they begin this new chapter in their lives. They will always be valued members of the Catamount athletic family."

A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately. "I'm confident that we will once again attract an exceptional head coach to lead our program into the future," said Schulman.
