BURLINGTON, Vt.—The University of Vermont field hockey team announced the addition of nine newcomers to its 2026 roster Friday afternoon. The incoming class features eight first-years and one transfer.
"The talent and experience this class brings is undeniable," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "We are thrilled to welcome another group of driven student-athletes who are prepared to compete for championships."
Joelle Cameron, a native of West Bridgewater, Mass., joins the Catamounts as the lone transfer after spending the past four seasons at Saint Michael's College. Cameron was the team's goalkeeper during her career and was named team captain as a senior after serving as an assistant captain in 2024. She earned numerous accolades during her standout senior season, including NFHCA Division II Second Team All-American honors, NFHCA East Region First Team recognition, a selection to the NFHCA Senior Team, and NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year honors. Cameron was also a two-time NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week, a two-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Week, and an NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week selection.
Ava Peters, a native of Vestal, N.Y., joins the Catamounts after a successful career at Vestal High School. A midfielder, Peters helped lead the Golden Bears to five consecutive Section IV championships (2021-25), four state regional championships (2021-23, 2025), and back-to-back New York State championships in 2022 and 2023. Individually, Peters earned the New York State Tournament Sportsmanship Award in 2021, was named to the Section IV All-Star Second Team in 2022 and First Team from 2023-25. She also earned Section IV Elite 11 Team honors in 2024 and 2025 and was selected to the New York State Championship All-Tournament Team, the MAX Field Hockey Northeast All-Region Team, and the All-State Team in 2025.
Natalie Morgan, a native of Chelmsford, Mass., joins the Catamounts after spending the past four years at Lawrence Academy, where she played defense and served as a team captain during her junior and senior seasons. Morgan earned All-Independent School League First Team honors as both a sophomore and junior and was selected to the All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council team in her sophomore and junior seasons. As a freshman, she was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School Watchlist. Away from the field, Morgan represented Lawrence Academy at the Independent School League Athletics Leadership Symposium on Equity and Racial Justice, participated in the Girls in Sports Leadership Program, volunteered with Give Kids the World in Orlando, Fla., and attended the Third Annual Changemakers Conference.
MaKenna Baessler, a native of Reading, Pa., joins the Catamounts after playing both midfield and forward at Governor Mifflin High School. Baessler served as a team captain during both her junior and senior seasons and earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including All-State First Team recognition in 2024 and 2025, three consecutive All-Conference selections (2023-25), All-State Second Team honors in 2023, and All-Division honors in 2022.
Avery Forfa, a native of Clark, N.J., joins the Catamounts after a standout career as a forward at Arthur L. Johnson High School. Forfa served as team captain during her senior season and helped lead her team to conference championships in 2025 while earning team MVP honors in both the 2025 and 2024 seasons. She earned First Team North Jersey All-Stars, First Team All-County, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-State Group 1 honors as a senior. As a junior, she was named First Team All-County and First Team All-Conference. During her sophomore season, Forfa earned First Team All-County and First Team All-Conference recognition and was selected as her team's Offensive Player of the Year. As a freshman, she was named Second Team All-County and Second Team All-Conference and earned her team's Rookie of the Year award.
Charlotte Mouson, a native of Lasne, Belgium, joins the Catamounts after playing forward at Collège Cardinal Mercier. During her career, Mouson helped her teams capture four Belgian championships, a Belgian vice championship, and a U19 European championship, while also finishing third at the U14 European Cup.
Milou Nijveldt, a native of Bussum, Netherlands, joins the Catamounts as the second goalkeeper in this incoming class. Nijveldt previously competed for HC Naarden before spending this past season with Gooische Hockey Club.
Isabel Schollema, a native of Groningen, Netherlands, joins the Catamounts after playing midfield for GHBS. While at GHBS, Schollema competed for the club's U16 team and earned a spot on its first women's team at an early age. Before joining GHBS, she played for MHC Roden, where she also made her debut for the club's first women's team while continuing to compete at the youth level. During the 2022-23 season, Schollema was selected to the district talent team.
Emily Enden, a native of Oberursel, Germany, joins the Catamounts as a midfielder from SC Frankfurt 1880. Enden served as a team captain and helped SC Frankfurt 1880 place third at the U18 German Championship last year. Throughout her playing career, she has captured 13 state championships and the Southern German Championship in 2022. Enden has appeared in nine matches for the German U18 National Team and was a member of the Hessen regional squad from 2019-23.
