BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (0-0-0) will face Merrimack (0-0-0) in its 2026 home opener on Wednesday, August 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Brian McLaughlin on the call.

• The Catamounts are 8-5-2 in home openers under Head Coach Kristi Huizenga.  

• Vermont returns two America East All-Conference members from their 2025 squad, Bridget Kennedy and Madeline Gardner. 

• Catamounts are 2-2-1 all-time against Merrimack. Last season, Vermont opened up the season at Merrimack drawing 1-1. 

• Vermont was picked to finish third in the America East 2026 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.
