Burlington, Vt. – Sydney Slusser recorded five saves as Vermont (0-1-1) fell to Sacred Heart (2-0-0) 2-2 at home in Burlington, Vt. from Virtue Field on Sunday afternoon.

"We are disappointed with our result today. " said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. " The first goal was obviously out of our control, but with how much of the ball we had we needed to be able to create more clear cut chances than we did to overcome that. Despite the result, there are some good early season learning moments for us and we will be back to work this week."

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• In the 12th minute, Sopha Lking made a comfortable save from inside the box. 

• Della Weir ripped a shot from outside the box, but the Sacred Heart goalkeeper made the save in the 20th minute. 

• Eight minutes later, Farrah Yaacoub scored from outside the box off a pass from Aubrey Bough, putting Vermont ahead 1-0. 

• In the 25th minute, Sophia Kling made a save from a Sacred Heart shit from the right edge of the box. 

• The game remained at a standstill 0-0 at the end of the first half. 

• Sydney Slusser started as the goalkeeper in the second half. 

• In the 54th minute, Sacred Heart's Shea Kelleher tucked in a goal into the top right to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. 

• Seven minutes later, Sacred Heart would score again from inside the box extending their lead 2-0. 

• Katelyn Figueiredo's shot was saved by Sacred Heart in the 74th minute.
