BURLINGTON, Vt. – Aubrey Bought led the Catamounts with an goal and an assist as Vermont (3-4-2, 1-0-0) topped UMBC (6-3-2, 0-1-0) 3-1 at Virtue Field on Sunday afternoon in their annual Rally Around Mental Health Game presented by Redstone. It was also Senior Day for seven Catamounts.

"We were pleased with how the team came out," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "We thought we started the game really intensely. Of course, the conference points are all that matter right now and we were pleased to get three points with three goals."

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Catamounts opened the scoring in the 17th minute off a corner kick. Vermont played the ball short to Emma Warren. Warren fed the ball in the box to Aubrey Bough, her initial header was knocked down by a UMBC defender. But Bough regained control and fired a quick strike home for her first goal of the season.
• Vermont doubled its advantage just 42 seconds later. Eleni Stowell intercepted a UMBC clearing attempt and placed it perfectly past the UMBC keeper from 25 yards out. It was Stowell's team-leading fourth goal of the season.
• In the 20th minute Sophia Kling made a stop on UMBC's best early chance. She got a hand on Cameron Mink's attempt, and it bounced off the bar before being cleared by the UVM defense.
• UMBC cut the Vermont lead in half in the 23rd minute on their second corner of the afternoon. Hailey Ahmed headed home the corner taken by Peyton Schenning for her second goal of the season.
• Della Weir closed out the scoring for Vermont in the 55th minute. Warren played the ball to Bough along the boundary. Bough booted a through ball into the box and Weir was left unmarked on the far post and she tapped it home for her first goal of the season.

• This afternoon was Vermont's first win in their America East opener since topping Binghamton 1-0 in 2018.
• The Catamounts are the second team this season to score three or more goals on UMBC.
• Vermont's three goals were their highest output thus far in the 2026 campaign.
• Vermont held the Retrievers to just six shots Sunday, matching the season-low by an UVM opponent.
• Sophia Kling made four saves for the Catamounts earning her third win of the season.
• This afternoon was Emma Warren's second career two assist game.
• With today's win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to the Ronald McDonald House through the Cat's Win, Community Win's initiative. Vermont Mutual has donated over $6.4 Million Dollars since launching their Charitable Giving Fund.

She helped UConn win three Big East Regular Season titles and two tournament championships in her four years.
