Burlington, Vt. – Ella Hall scored a goal in the last second of the match as Vermont (1-4-2) defeated Saint Joseph's (4-1-1) 2-1 on the road in Philadelphia, Pa. from Sean Sweeney Field on Sunday afternoon.

" We have been digging for a moment like today and we couldn't be happier for the team to get the win on the road, especially the way it played out. " said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. " I thought we played well enough defensively to earn a shutout so to overcome the adversity of a late equalizing penalty and fight to the last second of the game says a lot about the character of the group. " 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• In the 3rd minute, Madeline Gardner broke away, but the Saint Joseph's goalkeeper made the save. 

• In the 12th minute, Emma Warren advanced on the left and delivered a precise cross that Eleni Stowell headed in, giving Vermont an early 1-0 lead. 

• In the 25th minute, Saint Joseph's threatened from close range, but Sophia Kling made the save and cleared the ball. 

• Vermont held a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

• Saint Joseph's was awarded a penalty kick following a Madeline Gardner foul and tied the match 1-1 in the 54th minute. 

• In the 62nd minute, Aurbey Bough's shot from outside the box was saved by the goalkeeper. 

• Shortly after, Madeline Gardner and Ella Hall each had strong attempts on goal, but the Saint Joseph's goalkeeper stopped both. 

• In the 70th minute, Della Weir took consecutive shots on goal, both saved by the goalkeeper. 

• In the 85th minute, Weir sent a low cross to Gardner in the box, but her shot was blocked by a Saint Joseph's defender. 

• Éléonore Blouin delivered a cross to Ella Hall, who scored just before the final whistle, securing a 2-1 victory and Vermont's first win of the season. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• Ella Hall recorded her first ever collegiate goal. 

• Eleni Stowell registered her second goal on the season and her second straight match with a goal. 

• Emma Warren and Éléonore Blouin each had an assist. 

• Sophia Kling notched two saves.  

• Vermont recorded 10 shots on goal compared to Saint Joseph's three. 

• Sophia Kling, Emma Warren, Emma Lovell, and Abby Mills were the only Catamounts to play for the full 90 minutes. 

• With today's Win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to the Ronald McDonald House through the Cat's Win, Community Win's initiative. Vermont Mutual has donated over $6.4 Million Dollars since launching their Charitable Giving Fund.
