Vanessa VanderZalm have both been named America East women's lacrosse weekly award winners for the period ending April 19. Hopkins was tabbed defensive player of the week and VanderZalm collected offensive player of the week after Vermont's big win over UMass Lowell on Sunday.

Hopkins made nine saves against the River Hawks to collect her 10
th win of the year, adding to her career high for victories in a single season. The Penn Yan, N.Y. native finished the contest with a .500 save percentage, which was the highest among conference goalies during the week. The nine saves for Hopkins were tied for the second-most for the senior in a game this season.

VanderZalm tallied a game-high five goals and also added one assist to lead the Catamounts to their third conference victory of the season. The junior also topped the team with five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the contest. VanderZalm registered her eighth multi-goal performance of the season and third with five scores or more. The Pelham, Ontario native leads the Catamounts in draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers, while ranking second in all three scoring categories this season.
UVM wraps up the regular season with a contest against New Hampshire on Senior Day in Burlington this Saturday (April 25) at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live for free via CatamounTV.com.
