VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont women's hockey team (8-8-1, 1-6-0 HEA) hosts No. 5 Boston U (10-3-2, 6-2-0 HEA) Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Catamounts final Hockey East game of 2014.
PELKEY AND COLANG LEAD CATAMOUNTS IN SCORINGForwards

Dayna Colang are tied for the team lead in scoring with 17 points. Both of them have registered eight goals and nine assists. The Catamounts are 5-1-0 this season when one of them scores.
STRONG START AS A CATAMOUNT FOR DROBOTFreshman defenseman
Amanda Drobot has had strong offensive start for Vermont this season. She has a goal and eight assists for nine points. Her lone goal was the game-winner at Syracuse on November 15. She is tied for fifth in scoring amongst all Hockey East defensemen.
QUICK STARTS KEY FOR VERMONT The Catamounts are 6-2-1 when they score first this season. They are also 4-0-0 this season when leading after the first and second period. Vermont is an even 4-4-1 when they are tied after the first and second period.
ZUBACK SCORING IN BUNCHESSenior forward
Brittany Zuback is tied for eighth in the NCAA with 11 goals. She is also tied for second in the NCAA with five power play goals. In November she set a new program record with an eight-game goal-scoring streak. She scored two game-winning goals over the eight game stretch.
CATAMOUNTS IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRITVermont is undefeated in its last seven games in the month of December. Under Coach Plumer the Catamounts are 3-0-1 during the last two seasons. Last year Vermont tied Colgate 1-1 on the road and then defeated Dartmouth for the first time in program history.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT#5 Boston U: The Terriers come to Gutterson Fieldhouse this weekend on a five-game unbeaten streak. Last weekend Marie-Philip Poulin collected two goals and an assist as the Terriers won 4-2 at Dartmouth.
Junior forward Sarah Lefort leads all Terriers in scoring with 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 15 games. She is tied for third in Hockey East scoring this season.
Sophomore goaltender Victoria Hanson has started the last six games in net for the Terriers. On the season she has a 7-1-1 record with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. Last season the Catamounts put five past her in a 5-1 win on January 25 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Terriers are 20-4-3 against Vermont all-time, including a 9-4-1 record at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Last season the Catamounts picked up their first win over Boston U since January of 2010, sweeping the weekend series at the Gut by scores of 4-2 and 5-1.
FUTURE CATAMOUNT ALYSSA GORECKI TO COMPETE AT U18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPAlyssa Gorecki, who will be a freshman with the women's hockey team next season, was named to the 2015 U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team Wednesday. Gorecki, a Monee, Ill. native, will represent the U.S at the 2015 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship, set for January 5-12 at HARBORCENTER in Buffalo, New York.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY ALUMNAE WEEKENDThe Catamounts will be hosting their annual alumnae weekend January 30 to February 1. The weekend will include games against Northeastern and Providence, an alumnae game, open practice, and reception at the Windjammer.
