VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont women's hockey team (10-14-1, 1-11-0 HEA) returns to action this weekend as they travel to face No. 6 Boston University (15-5-2, 10-3-0 HEA) in a two-game Hockey East series. The Terriers host the Catamounts at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
LITCHFIELD HAS CAREER DAY AGAINST BCAlthough the Catamounts fell 2-0 to No. 1 Boston College in their last game
Madison Litchfield was the star of the game. She stopped 49 of the 50 shots she faced, a new career high, as Vermont held the nation's top scoring team to two goals for only the third time this season.
DIVING SAVE THE MOE-MENT OF THE WEEKOne of Litchfield's diving saves on a Boston College power play was selected as Vermont Athletics Moe's Moe-Ment of the Week.

Brittany Zuback leads the team in scoring with 15 goals this season. Her 15 goals are tied for eighth most in the NCAA. Seven of her 14 goals have come on the power play; she is tied for second in the NCAA in that category. With seven power play goals she is now tied with
Amanda Pelkey(2013-14) and Kailey Nash (2009-10) for the single-season program record.
FRESHMEN D MAKING IMPACT FOR THE CATAMOUNTSVermont's trio of freshmen defenseman have made an early impact for the Catamounts. The combo of
Amanda Drobot,
Katherine Pate, and
Taylor Willard have collectively missed just four regular season games. Drobot is tied for ninth in scoring amongst Hockey East defenseman. Pate leads the Catamounts with 33 blocked shots and Willard had a goal and an assist in Vermont's most recent win a 2-0 decision over Colgate.
MACNEIL HITTING STRIDE IN CONFERENCE PLAYFreshman
Mackenzie MacNeil has seen her ice time increase due to injuries and as a result her production has gone up. She has four points in the Catamounts last five Hockey East games to lead all Vermont scorers over that stretch of league play.
QUICK STARTS KEY FOR VERMONT The Catamounts are 7-4-1 when they score first this season. They are also 5-2-0 this season when leading after the first period. Vermont is 5-5-2 when they are tied after the first and second period.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT#6 Boston U: The Terriers are coming off a 4-1 win over No. 4 Quinnipiac Wednesday night at Walter Brown Arena. Marie-Philip Poulin and Kayla Tutino led the way with a goal and two assists apiece.
The Terriers are 9-2-1 in their last 12 games with their only losses coming to ranked Cornell and Boston College teams. Boston U has an impressive 7-1-1 mark at home this season. Their only loss came to Northeastern on November 11.
Junior forward Sarah Lefort leads the Terriers in scoring with 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points in 22 games this season. Lefort had two goals against the Catamounts on December 6 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Terriers are 21-4-3 against Vermont all-time, including an 11-0-2 record at Walter Brown Arena. The Terriers are the only team in Hockey East Vermont has not defeated on the road.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY ALUMNAE WEEKENDThe Catamounts will be hosting their annual alumnae weekend January 30 to February 1. The weekend will include games against Northeastern and Providence, an alumnae game, open practice, and reception at the Windjammer.
