VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont women's hockey team (11-15-1, 2-12-0 HEA) returns home on alumnae weekend as the Catamounts continue league play against Northeastern (7-13-4, 6-8-1 HEA) and Providence (6-16-4, 5-8-1 HEA). The Catamounts face the Huskies at 7 p.m. on Friday night and the Friars at 2 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.
QUICK STARTS KEY FOR VERMONT The Catamounts are 8-4-1 when they score first this season. They are also 6-2-0 this season when leading after the first period. Vermont is also 6-1-0 this season when leading after 40 minutes, in one-goal games the Catamounts are 5-2.
LITCHFIELD SHUTTING DOOR IN JANUARYSophomore goaltender
Madison Litchfield has been outstanding for the Catamounts in their last three games against No. 1 Boston College and No. 7 Boston U. Litchfield stopped 104 of the 110 shots she faced for a .945 save percentage. Litchfield is one of three goalies in Hockey East this season with three shutouts.

Amanda Pelkey has 96 career points as a Catamount. Her 44 goals and 52 assists are both program records. With four more points she will become the first Catamount to ever reach 100 points.
ZUBACK SET TO ESTABLISH NEW UVM RECORD FOR GAMES PLAYEDBrittany Zuback has skated in every game for the Catamounts over the last four years, totaling 128 games. The program record of 134 career games is shared by Kristen Norris (2003-07), Kate Lesniak (2004-08), and
Danielle Rancourt (2010-14). The Catamounts have seven more regular season games and at least two postseason games.
POWER PLAY PRODUCTION LED BY ZUBACKVermont's power play is ranked 16
th in the NCAA converting 17.8% of the time.
Brittany Zuback is leading the way for Vermont, she has seven power play goals which is tied for third in the NCAA. With seven power play goals she is now tied with
Amanda Pelkey (2013-14) and Kailey Nash (2009-10) for the single-season program record. Three of Vermont's last five goals have come on the power play.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSNortheastern – The Huskies are currently in fourth place in Hockey East with 13 points. Northeastern is just 2-7-1 in its last 10 games. Last weekend the Huskies split a weekend series at Maine. Last Saturday the Huskies entered the third period trailing 2-0 before scoring five third period goals to stun the Black Bears. On Sunday Maine rebounded with a 4-2 win over the Huskies.
Junior forward Kendall Coyne leads the Huskies in scoring with 19 goals and 13 assists for 34 points this season. She leads all Hockey East scorers with 16 goals in league play.
The 2014 Olympian has 16 points in five career games against Vermont. Earlier this season she had two points in each game of Northeastern's weekend sweep against Vermont.
Fans should expect a high scoring affair on Friday night. Northeastern (52) and Vermont (54) have given up the most goals in Hockey East play this season.
The Huskies lead the all-time series against Vermont 29-5-4. Vermont's last win against Northeastern came in a 3-2 decision at Gutterson Fieldhouse on November 23, 2013.
Providence – The Friars are the only team in Hockey East the Catamounts have yet to face this season. Providence is coming off a weekend split in a home-and-home series against Connecticut. Each team won their home game 4-1. Providence is currently fifth in Hockey East with 11 points.
Before heading to Burlington this weekend the Friars host the undefeated No. 1 Boston College Eagles Friday night at Schneider Arena.
After a 12-game winless streak to start the season the Friars have rebounded quite well in 2015. Since the New Year Providence is 3-2-1, with all three wins coming in Hockey East play.
Senior forward Beth Hanrahan leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 26 games.
Last season Vermont swept the three-game season series with the Friars for the first time in program history. Providence leads the all-time series with a record of 26-8-1.
