VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont women's hockey team continues Hockey East play this weekend as the Catamounts host New Hampshire and Maine. Vermont faces the Wildcats at 7 p.m. on Friday before taking on the Black Bears at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Dayna Colang are tied for the team lead in scoring with three points apiece. Colang has scored in each of Vermont's last three games and Baker scored the game-winning goal last weekend at Providence. They were among the Catamounts top-three returning scorers from last season. Last season in three games against New Hampshire Colang registered two goals and two assists.
COACH PLUMER PICKS UP 200th CAREER WIN The Catamounts 3-1 win at Providence on Saturday was the 200
th win in Coach Plumer's coaching career. 42 of Coach Plumer's wins have come at Vermont. His 41 wins in his first three years at UVM broke the school record for wins in a three-year span by 16.
SPECIAL TEAMS GETTING BACK ON TRACKAfter struggling in their first six games the Catamounts special team units appeared to find their rhythm last weekend. Vermont killed off all six power play opportunities their opponents had and the Vermont power play, which had been 0 for 15 entering the weekend was 2 for 7.
Bridget Baker's game-winning goal on Saturday afternoon at Providence came on the power play.
PATE LEADS SHOT BLOCKING BRIGADESophomore defenseman
Katherine Pate leads the team in blocked shots with 13 this season, which is currently tied for eighth in Hockey East. As a team Vermont is blocking 11.5 shots a game. The Catamounts blocked a season-high 17 shots against Providence in their 3-1 win last weekend.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSNew Hampshire: The Wildcats make the trip to Burlington in search of their first win of the season. So far this year UNH is 0-7-0 including a 0-3-0 mark in Hockey East action.
Last weekend the Wildcats traveled to No. 4 Clarkson and were swept in the two-game series by scores of 4-2 and 6-4. The Wildcats leading scorer Jonna Curtis recorded three goals and an assist at Clarkson.
Curtis is the team leader in points (7), goals (5), and shots (31). Last season she also led the Wildcats in scoring with 22 points. Against the Catamounts she had four goals and three assists for seven points in three games.
The Wildcats have started four different goalies in their seven games this season. Senior Vilma Vaattovaara has seen the majority of time, starting four games. Last season she was 1-1-0 against the Catamounts, starting both games at Gutterson Fieldhouse. She stopped 76 of the 81 shots she faced that weekend.
Vermont has flipped what was once a once-sided affair between the Wildcats and Catamounts. UNH won the first 21 meetings between the teams but Vermont is 8-8-2 in the 18 meetings since 2010. The Catamounts are 4-3-2 against UNH under Coach Plumer.
Maine: The Black Bears make the trek to Vermont on a season best three-game winning streak. Maine swept Brown last weekend after defeating Merrimack on the road, the Black Bears have outscored their opponents 10-2 over those games. Maine will host Providence in league action Friday night.
Sophomore forward Brooke Stacey led the Black Bears in scoring last weekend with a goal and an assist in both games. She leads the team in scoring this season with seven points in eight games. Last year against the Catamounts she had two assists in three games.
Senior goaltender Meghann Treacy has started every game in net for the Black Bears posting a 4-4-0 record with a .939 save percentage and 2.04 goals-against average. She also has two shutouts including the team's Hockey East opener at UNH.
Vermont is 15-23-6 all-time against the Black Bears. Last season Maine swept a two-game series at Gutterson Fieldhouse in November with 2-0 and 3-1 wins. The Catamounts are 6-4-1 against Maine under head coach

KAYLA KRUK JOINS WOMEN'S HOCKEY THROUGH TEAM IMPACTThe women's hockey team officially drafted seven-year-old Shelburne, Vt. native Kayla Kruk through Team IMPACT. Kayla celebrated her draft day with the Catamounts last Saturday in a ceremony facilitated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.

ALL ACROSS THE MAPThe Catamounts have players from 10 different states (Alaska, California, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Vermont), two Canadian provinces (Alberta and Ontario) and two other countries (Czech Republic and Finland). Vermont has four players from Ontario more than any other state or province.
3RD ANNUAL PACK THE GUT CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY THE WINDJAMMERThe Vermont women's hockey team will host the third annual "Pack the Gut Challenge Presented by The Windjammer" on Friday January 29 as they face Connecticut.
The goal this is to break the single game Hockey East attendance record of 2,028 fans, set by Vermont in 2013, and support the local Meals on Wheels organization.
