The Terriers battled back from two goals down to tie Cornell 3-3 in Red Hot Hockey at Madison Square Garden last Saturday before winning in a shootout. BU is led offensively by Danny O'Regan with a team-best 17 points and 13 assists, while Ahti Oksanen has tallied a team-high seven goals. Sophomore Connor LaCouvee has started 10 games in net with a 5-2-3 record, 2.65 goals against average and .914 save percentage. Former Colorado Avalanche assistant David Quinn is in his third year as the head coach after replacing Jack Parker.
SERIES HISTORYFriday night marks the 75th meeting between Vermont and Boston University in the all-time series, which dates back to 1972. Last season, the Terriers swept the Catamounts in Burlington with a 4-2 win and a 2-1 overtime winner from Hobey Baker winner Jack Eichel in late January. UVM has split each of its last two weekend series at Agganis Arena, scoring 11 times in the two wins with 5-goal and 6-goal performances. Only one of the last seven meetings has been decided by a goal or less. Vermont is 6-8-3 all-time at Agganis, which opened in January of 2005.
PHILADELPHIA COLLEGE HOCKEY FACEOFFDylan Richard scored twice and Eamon McAdam stopped all 30 shots he faced as 20th-ranked Penn State shut out Vermont 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Mike Santaguida finished with a career-high 42 saves in the Vermont net and made at least 13 saves in each period. It marked the first 40-plus save effort by a UVM goaltender since Rob Madore registered 40 saves at Maine on Jan. 4, 2012. Zach Saar's power play goal at 8:20 of the first period proved to be the game-winner, while Chase Berger added a tally for Penn State.

The Catamounts have registered at least 30 shots on target in each of their last seven games and rank 24th in the nation in shots on goal per game (31.2). UVM faced the nation's leader in shots on goal per game last Sunday against Penn State, and BU currently ranks fifth in that category (35.9).
