VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont women's hockey team (12-16-1, 3-13-0 HEA) hits the road this weekend as they travel to Orono to take on third place Maine (10-13-3, 9-6-1 HEA) in a single Hockey East game. The Catamounts close out the season series with the Black Bears at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
COLANG COLLECTS WEEKLY AWARDSJunior forward
Dayna Colang was named the Warrior Hockey East Player of the Week and the TD Bank Student-Athlete of Week after her four-goal performance last weekend. Last Sunday against Providence in the first period she scored two goals in 21 seconds. Before the end of the opening frame she scored another to complete her second career hat trick. She is currently on a four-game goal-scoring streak.
ZUBACK LEADS TEAM IN SCORINGSenior forward
Brittany Zuback leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points in 29 games this season. With seven power play goals she is now tied with
Amanda Pelkey (2013-14) and Kailey Nash (2009-10) for the single-season program record.
PELKEY APPROACHING CENTURY MARKWith two assists in Vermont's 7-3 win over Providence last Sunday senior co-captain
Amanda Pelkey has 99 career points as a Catamount. Her 44 goals and 55 assists are both program records. With one more point she will become the first Catamount to ever reach 100 points.
QUICK STARTS KEY FOR VERMONT The Catamounts are 9-4-1 when they score first this season. They are also 7-2-0 this season when leading after the first period. Vermont is also 7-1-0 this season when leading after 40 minutes, in one-goal games the Catamounts are 5-3.
ZUBACK SET TO ESTABLISH NEW UVM RECORD FOR GAMES PLAYEDBrittany Zuback has skated in every game for the Catamounts over the last four years, totaling 130 games. The program record of 134 career games is shared by Kristen Norris (2003-07), Kate Lesniak (2004-08), and
Danielle Rancourt (2010-14). The Catamounts have five more regular season games and at least two postseason games.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTMaine: Last weekend the Black Bears split a weekend series at New Hampshire. Meghann Treacy and Maine shutout UNH 3-0 on Saturday but dropped Sunday's game 4-2. In 2015 so far the Black Bears are 3-3-0 in Hockey East action.
With a win this weekend and a Providence loss the Black Bears could secure home ice advantage for the Hockey East quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
Senior forward Hailey Browne leads the Black Bears in scoring with 16 points this season. She has six goals and 10 assists in 26 games. Fellow senior Jennifer More leads the way with nine goals for Maine.
Treacy is second in Hockey East with a 2.28 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. She is 9-12-2 this season and 2-0-0- against Vermont with three shutouts.
Vermont is 14-23-6 all-time against the Black Bears. After dropping two games earlier this season at Gutterson Fieldhouse the Catamounts are 5-4-1 against Maine under head coach
Jim Plumer. Vermont is 2-1-1 in its last four games at Alfond Arena.
