MEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKVermont hosts Martin St. Louis Night on Friday night (Jan. 8) against former ECAC rival Dartmouth at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Before the game, the Catamounts will honor Martin St. Louis '97 with a special pre-game presentation. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pre-game ceremony, which begins at approximately 7 p.m.
The game will be streamed live for free at CatamounTV.com, and radio coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on WVMT 620-AM and SportsJuice.com with

MARTIN ST. LOUIS NIGHT UVM will honor its all-time leading scorer on Friday with Martin St. Louis in attendance to be recognized during a special pre-game presentation. During his four-year career at Vermont, the forward registered 267 points on 91 goals and 176 assists in 139 games. St. Louis led the Catamounts to their first-ever NCAA Frozen Four berth in 1996 and another NCAA Tournament appearance in 1997. For three straight seasons, he was named an All-American and was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in those campaigns. St. Louis went on to post more than 1,000 career points in the NHL, becoming only the sixth undrafted player to achieve the feat.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREENDartmouth won the Ledyard Classic in Hanover last weekend with wins over Robert Morris (5-1) and 20th-ranked Merrimack (3-0) at Thompson Arena. Charles Grant is the ECAC Goaltender of the Week after stopping 39 shots in the tournament, including his third career shutout against Merrimack. Nick Bligh earned NCAA No. 3 Star of the Week honors as the senior posted a five-point performance to earn MVP honors at the Ledyard Classic. Bligh leads Dartmouth with six goals and 11 points, while junior Troy Crema paces the squad with six assists on the year. Bob Gaudet is in his 19th season as the head coach of the Big Green and has won more than 350 games in his Division I coaching career.
SERIES HISTORYUVM has the advantage in the series with Dartmouth at 48-23-6 heading into the 78th all-time meeting between the former ECAC rivals. The Catamounts are 5-1-1 in their last seven games against the Big Green, with those games being decided by a total of 10 goals. Last season, Vermont traveled to Hanover and came away with a 4-1 victory behind goals from four different players and 26 saves from
Mike Santaguida. The last matchup in Burlington resulted in a 1-1 tie at Gutterson Fieldhouse on Jan. 3, 2014 as
Brady Shaw scored the game-tying goal in the third.
UVM EDGES RIVAL IN OT | CatamounTV HighlightsJarrid Privitera's second goal of the game and team-leading 10th of the season lifted Vermont over rival UNH just 40 seconds into overtime 3-2 last Saturday in non-conference action at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Catamounts won their third consecutive game and snapped the Wildcats' six-game unbeaten streak in the 106th all-time meeting. Privitera registered his second multi-goal game of the season, while
Brady Shaw eclipsed the 50-point plateau with a goal and an assist.
Yvan Pattyn collected a career-high three assists, and all seven of his helpers this season have come at Gutterson. UVM held a 37-19 advantadge in shots, and the Catamounts blocked more shots (20) than they allowed on target (19), a season-low.
PACKY WINS A PAIRIt's been a busy week for
Packy Munson, who was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week and the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for December. Munson went 3-2-0 with a pair of shutouts in his first five collegiate starts in December, posting a 1.59 goals against average and a .940 save percentage. He closed the month last Wednesday by earning MVP honors in the annual Sheraton/TD Bank Catamount Cup, allowing just one goal in the tournament. In four home starts this year, the Hugo, Minnesota native owns a 4-0-0 record with a 0.75 goals against average and .965 save percentage.
MILESTONE WATCHBrendan Bradley is just two away from his 100th career game, while forwards
Rob Darrar (Jan. 2),
Jarrid Privitera (Dec. 29), and
Tom Forgione (Dec. 29) all skated in their 50th career games last week for UVM.
Brady Shaw eclipsed the 50-point plateau with two points against UNH last Saturday, while Bradley hit the half-century mark on Dec. 5 at No. 11 BU.
Mario Puskarich is the program's active leading scorer with 77 career points and scored his 35th collegiate goal at Maine on Nov. 11. Head coach
Kevin Sneddon is just three wins shy of his 200th victory behind the UVM bench and his 250th career NCAA win.
