Stafford more than doubled his 2016 output with his seven scores, and was one of six Catamounts registering multi-point performances. James Barlow picked up a hat trick and added three assists and is now just six shy of 100 career points. Cam Milligan and Nick Bartlett each added three helpers, and Milligan now stands alone in seventh all-time for career assists with 58 in 30 games.

Defenseman James Leary caused five turnovers for Vermont and picked up four ground balls. Jon Kaplan posted his third consecutive game with double-figure saves in net, as the junior stopped 12 shots to improve to 3-4 on the season.

Richie Loftus posted a hat trick for Dartmouth with four goals, while Cam Lee and KC Beard each added a pair of scores. Austin Meacham picked up a team-best six ground balls and Joe Balaban recorded 19 saves in his first collegiate start.

Loftus netted the game-opening score on an assist from Beard, but Vermont responded with a pair of goals from Stafford and Barlow to give UVM a 2-1 edge after 15 minutes. Lee tied the game at two apiece at the first minute of the second quarter, but Stafford and Milchling struck to close the half with the Catamounts leading the Big Green 4-2.

Beard sent one past Kaplan from the top of the attack box (4-3) at the start of the second half, before Vermont went on a 5-1 run throughout the remainder of the third quarter. Ian MacKay found the back of the net twice to extend his point streak to 39 games, while Barlow, Milchling and Stafford also added a score to put together a 9-5 cushion heading into the final quarter.

The teams combined for 11 goals in a heavily offensive fourth quarter, as freshman Braiden Davis notched his sixth goal in 10 games on a behind-the-back pass from Barlow on Dartmouth's doorstep. Vermont tallied five scores in 10 minutes as Stafford capped off the Catamounts' victory with his seventh score in the final minute and a half.

Vermont registered a season-high 53 shots against Dartmouth's 40, and edged the Big Green in ground balls 39-24. Luc LeBlanc took charge at the faceoff X as he won 16-of-23 (.700) trips to the dot for Vermont. UVM finished 2-for-7 on man-up chances and has now won three of its last four games.

The Catamounts gear up for back-to-back conference road games, starting with No. 12 Stony Brook on Sunday. Faceoff against the Seawolves on Long Island is set for 12 p.m. and can be viewed for free via AmericaEast.tv.
