WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont (4-6-1, 3-4-1 HEA) plays a two-game series with defending national champion and third-ranked Clarkson (10-1-1, 3-1-0 ECAC) this weekend. The Catamounts host the Golden Knights on Friday (Nov. 10) at 2 p.m. and travel to Potsdam, New York for the second game Saturday (Nov. 11), which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Video and live stats for both games are available through the links below.

NEW HAMPSHIRE RECAP
Last weekend, UVM played its final two games against the Wildcats this season. The Catamounts played UNH to a 2-2 tie on Friday, Nov. 3 and fell 6-2 in the second game Saturday, Nov. 4.

On Friday, Vermont entered the third period with a one-goal lead, but Carlee Turner scored her second goal of the game with 1:35 remaining in regulation to tie the game and force overtime. Sophomore
Sydney Scobee made a career-high 42 saves in the game.
Kourtney Menches scored her first goal of the season and
Mackenzie MacNeil scored her third of the year.

New Hampshire scored less than five minutes into the start of the second game on Saturday and did not look back, taking a 5-0 lead with 19:01 remaining in the third period. The Wildcats kept Vermont off the board until
Daria O'Neill netted her second goal of the year and MacNeil added her second goal of the weekend less than 30 seconds later to cut the UNH lead to 5-2 with 13:39 remaining. New Hampshire added an extra insurance goal halfway through the third and took the game 6-2.

SCOUTING CLARKSON
Clarkson enters the weekend series against Vermont with a 10-1-1 overall record and a 3-1-0 ECAC mark. The Golden Knights tied Northeastern 1-1 in their season opener and fell 4-3 in overtime to Colgate on Oct. 27.
Clarkson is led by two players who have more than 20 points through 12 games this season. Junior Loren Gabel enters the weekend with 11 goals and 11 assists and freshman Elizabeth Giguere begins the weekend with 12 goals and 10 assists. They are both fifth in the country with 1.83 points per game. The Golden Knights have three other players with double-digit points.

Senior goaltender Shea Tiley has played nearly every minute in goal. She has recorded a 10-1-1 record, a 1.22 GAA, and a .940 save percentage in over 686 minutes between the pipes. She leads the nation with five shutouts.

The Golden Knights possess the fourth-best scoring offense in the country, averaging 4.25 goals per game with 12 power play goals through 12 games. Defensively, Clarkson has averaged 1.17 goals against per game, good for third in the nation.

LAST TIME OUT
Vermont fell to Clarkson 3-1 last season in the Windjammer Classic Championship game. The teams entered the third period tied at 1-1, but a pair of goals lifted fifth-ranked Clarkson over the Catamounts.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 23rd and 24th time the two teams have faced each other since 2003. Vermont's last win came in Oct. 2009, a 4-1 win at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Since that win, UVM has tied two contests and dropped five.

NEAR THE TOP OF THE PACK
Scobee sits second in Hockey East and 11th in the country with a .936 save percentage. Within the conference, she trails Boston University freshman Corinne Schroeder, who holds a .940 save percentage. Scobee is seventh in the conference with a 2.24 goals against average.

The Catamounts sit third in the country on the power play, converting 11-of-39 (28.21%) opportunities on the season. UVM is 16th in the nation on the penalty kill, successfully killing 40-of-47 (85.1%) penalties this season.

Vermont remains in Burlington next weekend as hosts against Hockey East rival Boston University. The Terriers will come to town on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. for the first of two games. The teams will face-off again Saturday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m.Â
