BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont Athletic Hall of Fame will officially welcome five new members this fall when the Class of 2017 is inducted. This year's inductees are Richard Ader '63 (basketball), Corey Bronner '07 (soccer), Ed Kusiak (track and field), Torrey Mitchell '07 (hockey), and Craig Mygatt '88 (lacrosse).
All five individuals will be formally inducted at the 49th annual UVM Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner on campus at the Dudley H. Davis Center on Saturday, September 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $60 and can be purchased by

Richard Ader '63
Ader averaged 10.8 points per game in his Catamount career and earned Second Team All-Yankee Conference honors as a junior. As a rookie, he finished tied for second on the team in rebounds (111) and ranked fourth in points (215). As a junior, he posted career-highs in points (284), field-goal percentage (42.0%), and rebounds (119). After graduation, he became a successful realtor and currently serves as the CEO and Managing Partner of U.S. Realty Advisors. Ader is a board member of the United States Tennis Association and he was co-captain of the U.S. Master Tennis Maccabi Team for 16 years. He currently serves on the UVM Foundation Board of Directors and has previously served as a member of the board of the Women's Sports Foundation.
Corey Bronner '07

A two-time CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American, Bronner guided the Catamounts to 33 wins during his time in green and gold. He collected a pair of All-Championship Team selections as a junior and senior while helping UVM to an appearance in the 2006 America East Championship Game. He also earned NSCAA All-New England honors in his UVM career. For his efforts in the classroom, Bronner was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and was named to the America East All-Academic Team as junior and senior. As a senior, he was voted the team's Most Valuable Player and later received UVM's Wasson Athletic Prize, awarded to the student-athlete who has demonstrated a high level of athletic achievement and has maintained the highest standard of academic scholarship.
Ed Kusiak
Kusiak served over three decades as UVM's Director of Track and Field before retiring in 2003. He led the women's track & field team to three straight America East titles, including its first two outdoor titles, in addition to a New England Championship in 2000. Kusiak was named America East Coach of the Year three times in a four-year span – 1998, 2000, 2001. He coached numerous New England champions, ECAC champions, All-Americans, and Academic All-Americans during his tenure, including a pair of future Olympians in distance runner Judi St. Hilaire '81 and thrower Anna Norgren Mahon '96. Kusiak has coached 43 athletes that are currently in the UVM Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2003, he won the Vermont Leaders in Fitness and Sports Award, given annually by the Vermont Governor's Council.
Torrey Mitchell '07
Mitchell, a two-time Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star selection, totaled 105 points in 115 career games with the Catamounts. He earned ECAC All-Rookie honors in 2005 after finishing third on the team with 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists). He led the team in scoring and assists as both a sophomore and junior. As a junior, he was voted as the team's John C. Cunningham Most Valuable Player. Mitchell is one of seven players in program history to reach 100 career points in just three seasons as a letterwinner. The Quebec native was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fourth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and currently plays for the Montreal Canadiens.
Craig Mygatt '88
Mygatt enters the Hall of Fame as the men's lacrosse program's all-time leading goal scorer with 148 career goals. He also ranks second in points (241) and assists (93) on UVM's career scoring lists. As a freshman, Mygatt tallied a single-season record 50 goals in 13 games and matched the program record with eight goals in a single game. As a sophomore, he scored 30 goals and lifted the Catamounts to a program record 11 wins. At graduation, Mygatt and the Class of 1988 had racked up 34 career victories, which is currently tied for third-most by a graduating class. This past April, Mygatt was honored as one of eight attackmen on the Vermont 40th Anniversary All-Time Team.
