Geo Alves has been named the America East Player of the Week following the first two games of his Catamount career. The league made the announcement of its first weekly award winners on Monday.
Alves had seven points in his first two contests on three goals and one assist over the weekend. He scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in a 4-1 season-opening victory over Hartwick on Friday night. Alves netted another goal yesterday in a 2-1 overtime neutral site loss to San Diego State at Army.
Alves started both contests for the Catamounts and closed the weekend with 13 total shots to lead the team. He is a transfer from Dean College, where he registered 25 goals and 14 assists as a sophomore.
