Friday Recap
"We had some tremendous performances this weekend," head coach
Matt Belfield said. "For some to go beyond their marks from America East was truly impressive.
"It is always wonderful to have a New England Champion and Dan provided us with an exciting victory in the 400-hurdles.
"Will and Luke scoring yesterday in distance fields was great, too. Morgan and Muriel both finished their seasons with PRs to score. Samantha's 5,000-meter yesterday was certainly a highlight as well."
DeBlieck entered this afternoon's final heat as the top seed after winning the preliminary round yesterday. He maintained a lead throughout today's race and held off a late charge from Southern Connecticut State's Ruvens Exantus and Colby College's Sage Bailin down the stretch.
DeBlieck's time of 52.65s was another personal best, shaving .05 off his previous best, set at last weekend's America East Championships.
