ASIAGO, Italy – Incoming Vermont women's hockey freshman goaltender Blanka Škodová earned a silver medal with her native Czech Republic this past weekend at the 2018 Women's Inline Hockey World Championships in Italy.
The Vermont Academy product won her first five games of the tournament before the Czechs fell to Team USA 3-2 in Saturday's Gold Medal Game. She closed the event at 5-1-0 between the pipes with a 0.67 goals against average and a pair of shutouts.
Last season, Škodova led Vermont Academy to the 2018 NEPSAC Championship with a 1.87 goals against average and a .948 save percentage in over 1,000 minutes played.
She will join senior
Melissa Black and sophomore
Sierra Natzke to compete for playing time in the UVM net this season.
