TRACK & FIELD NOTEBOOK
The University of Vermont track & field program splits up into three meets this weekend. A contingent of Catamounts head to State College, Pennsylvania for the Penn State National Open Friday and Saturday (Jan. 25 & 26). Another group will be competing in the Middlebury Invitational on the same days. On Saturday, members of UVM track & field will also compete at UNH against the Wildcats and Maine Black Bears.

MIDDLEBURY INVITE (Jan. 25 & 26)
The Catamounts will be competing against teams from around the region this weekend at Middlebury. It will be the second consecutive week that Vermont visits New Balance Foundation Track at Virtue Field House after a successful Middlebury Winterfell Saturday (Jan. 19). Some of the teams they will face include St. Lawrence, Williams, Plattsburgh, and the host Middlebury Panthers.

UNH and MAINE (Jan. 26)
Vermont competes against America East foes UNH and Maine Saturday, 11 a.m. at Paul Sweet Oval in Durham, New Hampshire. The Catamounts have seen UNH twice this year while they've only seen Maine once in the opening meet at Dartmouth (Dec. 9). UNH edged out both Maine and Vermont in the opening meet in the men's and women's team competitions, but the Catamounts have the edge in the men's USTFCCCA rankings. Vermont sits 17th in the Northeast, ahead of UNH (23rd) and Maine (27th). The UNH women (22nd) have a higher ranking than Maine (30th) and Vermont (32nd).

LAST WEEK'S MIDDLEBURY WINTERFELL
Vermont men's and women's track & field both registered their first wins of the season last Saturday (Jan. 19) at the Middlebury Winterfell. The men registered 243 points to distance themselves from Middlebury (166 pts.), McGill (123 pts.), and Castleton (35 pts.).

Justin Liechty were only a portion of the individual winners for Vermont. On the women's side,
Anya Gorodentsev and
Jenna Bourdeau had double victories and
Lauren Trumble broke the facility 600m record as the Cats (236 pts.) blew past McGill (136 pts.), Middlebury (108 pts.), and Castleton (35 pts.)
AMERICA EAST FEMALE TRACK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Trumble was named America East Female Track Performer of the Week (Jan. 22) following her first-place finish in the 600m at Middlebury Winterfell. The senior captain raced to a time of 1:33.79 as the top finisher to set the new facility record at Virtue Field House and qualify for the New England Championship. The 600m time was her new personal record, which was previously set the year before at Middlebury.

CATS IN THE REGIONAL RANKINGS
Both the men's and women's teams were listed in the weekly Northeast rankings by USTFCCCA on Jan. 23. The Vermont men open up the season's first rankings at 17th in the region, behind Albany (6th), UMass Lowell (8th), and Binghamton (10th) as America East teams. On the women's side, the Catamounts start at 32nd in the Northeast region.
NORTH COUNTRY ALL-COMERS
A highlight to the indoor season is the North Country All-Comers, hosted by the Catamounts at Gardner-Collins Indoor Track. The only home meet for Vermont takes place Sunday (Feb. 10) at 12 p.m. UVM last hosted an indoor meet in 2016.
