BOSTON – For the second consecutive week,
Lauren Trumble has been named America East Female Track Performer of the Week following her first-place finish in the 1000m run Saturday (Jan. 26) at the Penn State National Open.

Trumble raced to a time of 2:50.32 as the top finisher in the 1000m invitational race to qualify for both the ECAC/IC4A and the New England Championship. The senior captain's mark is the second fastest by a woman in America East this season, missing the conference's top time by 0.04 seconds. Her 1000m time is one of four individual top marks she holds for Vermont this season. Trumble has also set the pace in the 600m (1:33.79), mile (4:57.19), and 3000m (9:58.61) while also running a leg of the team's top 4x800m relay mark (9:30.91).
A native of Ithaca, New York, Trumble remains one of two Catamounts to earn the conference's weekly honor and the first two-time winner of the season.

Trumble and other qualifiers for the New England Championship travel to Roxbury, Massachusetts for the annual meet Friday and Saturday (Feb. 1 & 2), hosted by the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA). Another group of Catamounts will be at the Villanova Invitational Saturday in Staten Island, New York.
