COACH'S QUOTE
"We're going to race to beat as many teams as possible," said head coach
Matt Belfield. "The conditions will be challenging, but we are well equipped for that. The teams are ready to go after their best finishes ever at the regionals."
MOVING TO THE ROAD
Due to over 11 inches of snowfall earlier this week, the NCAA has moved the regional championship onto a road course. The championship meet was previously scheduled to take place at the Audubon Golf Course.
Â
"After lengthy discussion and review of the conditions at the course in Buffalo, the NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has made the decision to move from Audubon Golf Course to a road course due to concerns with poor footing, ice and student-athlete safety," explained the NCAA.
WHAT'S IN THE FORECAST?
A snow shower is expected overnight in western New York, but will clear off by tomorrow morning. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s tomorrow with wind gusts in the mid-teens. A 20% chance of rain or wet snow is also in the forecast.
