REIGNING CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Tuesday night will feature two reigning conference Players of the Year –
Anthony Lamb and Cincinnati's Jarron Cumberland. The duo had very similar conference scoring averages last season. Lamb dropped 19.6 points per game on the America East while Cumberland posted 19.9 points per game against American Athletic Conference opponents.
BOUNCING BACK
UVM is coming off a loss at Yale, but the Green and Gold have avoided dropping back-to-back games in recent years. Vermont has not suffered two consecutive regular season losses since falling to Marquette (L, 91-81) on Dec. 5, 2017 and Northeastern (L, 71-67) four days later. Last year, UVM was 5-0 following a loss and 1-0 in similar circumstances this season.
CATS IN THE BUCKEYE STATE
Vermont will face an opponent from the Buckeye State for the 13th time in school history. From the 12 previous games, the Cats have four wins under their belt. UVM's last win over an Ohio foe was an 82-49 victory against Toledo in the Legends Classic on Nov. 29, 2009. Most notably, the Green and Gold also beat Ohio State 77-76 in Burlington on Dec. 3, 1977. The Buckeyes had three future NBA players on the roster, including the No. 4 overall pick Kelvin Ransey.
SCOUTING CINCINNATI
The Bearcats ride a bit of hot streak into Tuesday night after winning four out of their last five games. On the defensive glass, Cincinnati leads the American Athletic Conference and ranks No. 16 in the country with 30.4 defensive rebounds per game. Cumberland has produced 15.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in five games played to lead the Bearcats. He has netted at least 20 points twice in his last three games. Chris Vogt has added a 13.1 scoring average to Cincinnati's offense. The 7-1 center has drained 71.2% of his field goal attempts, the fifth-highest mark in Division I. Tre Scott has averaged close to a double-double with 8.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Scott's rebounding average sits at No. 30 in the nation.
CATS VS. JOHN BRANNEN | CatamounTV Highlights

Trae Bell-Haynes sank a teardrop in the final seconds. Lamb registered a double-double in the win with 26 points and 14 boards.
