BOSTON – Vermont women's track & field had several personal records set on the first day of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational Friday at Boston University Track & Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lauren Trumble had the top finish of the day for the Catamounts as she was the 20th runner to cross the line in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:48.07.
- Caroline O'Shea (52nd) and AnneMarie Martell (88th) also set personal records in the mile with times of 4:58.52 and 5:08.33, respectively.
- Mia Grasso turned in a 25th-place finish in the 500m dash with a time of 1:16.83 to set a new personal record. Alex May Curtis (34th) and Julia Nugent (41st) followed Grasso with times of 1:18.35 and 1:23.12.
- Jane Leighton finished 53rd in the 1000m run with a time of 3:02.10 and Alicia Tebeau-Sherry (62nd) registered a personal-best time of 3:04.57.
- In the 800m Ava Meyer (66th) narrowly missed a personal record with a time of 2:16.53 while Dina John set a new personal-best in 2:23.03.
- Danielle Kelly registered a personal record in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.24.
- Curtis, Grasso, Kelly, and Nugent later raced in the 4x400 relay and registered a time of 4:00.16 that was 0.80 seconds off of the Catamounts' top time this season.
NOTES
- Yolanda Ngarambe '14 won the elite 3000m with a time of 8:53 that easily qualified her for the world championships. Last week, she set the Swedish National Record in the mile at 4:28.

Vermont men's track & field gets its turn at the Valentine Invite Saturday (Feb. 9) with the first event kicking off at 10:30 a.m. Fans can see the entire Catamounts' track & field squad Sunday (Feb. 10) when they host the North Country All-Comers at Gardner-Collins Indoor Track.
