SWIMMING & DIVING NOTEBOOK
The Vermont Catamounts open the 2019-20 swimming & diving season on Saturday (Sept. 21) at Forbush Natatorium as the Huskies of Northeastern make the trip to Burlington.

The season-opening meet is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and will stream on CatamounTV.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northeastern sophomore Elly Morrison returns to the Huskies after a standout freshman campaign. Morrison was named CAA Rookie Diver of the Year after finishing ninth on the one-meter board and 10th on the three-meter board.

Senior Megan Clark enters her senior season one year after qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 50 free. Clark posted a time of 22.43 to take the CAA Crown last February.

Former Catamount diver Lauren Colby '12 is the Huskies' diving coach. The Huskies finished sixth at the 2019 CAA Championships with a team score of 356.60 points.

LAST YEAR'S MEETING
The Catamounts traveled to Boston last year, where the Huskies took a 231-69 victory over the Catamounts. The Huskies and the Catamounts have met annually, dating back to the 2003-04 season.

2019-20 CAPTAINS
Senior
Sophia Smith and junior
Emily Murphy will captain the team together for the 2019-20 season. Smith, a free/fly swimmer, is a second-year captain who was named to the America East Elite 18 and the America East All-Academic teams in 2019. Murphy, a diver, was named to the America East All-Conference in one-meter diving in 2018 and swept one meter and three-meter boards at Niagara.

CSCAA OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIP | Recap
Junior,
Madeleine Kovacs and senior,
Sophia Smith competed in the 2019 CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Championship on Saturday in Lawrence, Kansas. The pair finished just five seconds apart and one place apart in the 5k race. Kovacs finished 58th overall with a time of 1:13:53.1 and Smith finished 59th with a time of 1:13:58.1.
