SWIMMING & DIVING NOTEBOOK
The Vermont women's swimming & diving team travels to Worcester Polytechnic Institute for the 2020 America East Championships.

The four-day competition begins Thursday (Feb. 13) with Day 1 diving at 4:30 p.m. and relays at 6:00 p.m. Prelims will begin at 10:00 a.m. with finals at 5:30 p.m. in each of the following days, from Friday (Feb. 14) through Sunday (Feb. 16).

2020 CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
Tickets will only be sold on site at WPI and is cash only. An all-session pass is available for $65. General admission for each session is $12 for adults and $5 for youth (14 and under) and America East students with a valid student ID.

2019 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP |Â 2019 Complete Results
The Catamounts claimed third for the seventh straight season at the 2019 America East Championships. UVM posted a four-day total of 510 points, finishing behind UMBC (894.5 pts.) and New Hampshire (723).

Sierra Sexton posted a time of 23.48 to finish second and earn America East All-Conference honors in the 50 free. It marked the second consecutive silver medal for Sexton in the 50 free. She also finished fourth in the 100 free (51.57) at last year's championship.

Sophia Smith was recognized as the conference's Elite 18 Award recipient for her efforts in the pool and classroom. She also earned a spot on last year's America East All-Academic team.
FINAL TUNE UP
Vermont most recently competed at the University of Rhode Island in its final tune-up before the 2020 conference championships.

Sexton won the 50 free with a time of 24.94 and
Vivian Nguyen won the 100 fly after posting a time of 59.48.

TOP CATS
Junior diver
Emily Murphy has garnered four America East weekly honors this season. The Greenwich, Connecticut native has earned diver of the week accolades after sweeping the boards at three dual meets in 2019-20.

Mina Poppas earned Swimmer of the Week honors after Vermont's first weekend of competition in 2020. She won the 200 free (1:58.21) and the 500 free (5:16.61) at Siena (Jan. 11) and won the 500 free (5:14.22) and 1000 free (10:44.99) at Binghamton (Jan. 12).
