STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Vermont track & field saw several high finishes, including some of the Catamounts' top performance this season on Friday at the UAlbany Winter Classic. The meet took place in the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Benner grabbed first place in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:26.52. The senior narrowly missed a personal record by 0.22 seconds.
- Caroline O'Shea posted a 1000 meter time of 2:57.07 to earn her runner-up finish. The junior was on the tail of the victor, finishing just 0.11 seconds later. Sutyak was 19th in the race with a time of 3:03.64.
- Koski and Leighton placed in the top 10 in the mile. Koski was third with a time of 4:57.93 and Leighton took sixth with a time of 5:02.23.
- Alex May Curtis and Mia Grasso ran strong times in the 500 meter dash. Curtis finished in 1:15.42 for third place and Grasso (1:17.30) took seventh.
- Bel Sogoloff posted a time of 10:01.08 in the 3000 meter run for a fifth-place finish.
- Dina John was seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.86. The time was her fastest of the season.
- Justin Liechty and DeBlieck finished in the top 15 of the 400 meter dash. Liechty posted a time of 49.49 seconds for 10th and DeBlieck finished in 49.89 seconds for 17th.
- Allie Olson was 18th in the in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.79 seconds. The senior registered a new personal record, beating her old mark by 0.90 seconds.
- Williams returned to action with a time of 1:07.64 in the 500 meter dash for 21st place.
UP NEXT
The Catamounts compete in the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 8). Vermont will visit Leverone Field House for the third time this season.
