HANOVER, N.H. – Vermont track & field saw many strong performances in one of the final tune-ups before the postseason on Saturday at the Dartmouth Invite. The Catamount men (86 pts.) finished third in the team competition. The UVM women (27.5 pts.) were fourth.

"Given we had a split squad this weekend, we didn't have as high of a team finish, but we had some very good performances," said associate head coach
Joe Gingras. "This meet was one of the last tune-ups for the America East Championships in two weeks, and we accomplished many of our goals. Additionally, we got some IC4A qualifying marks today. Overall, it was a very solid day."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jasper Reed captured the lone victory for the Catamounts with a triple jump distance of 13.79 meters.
- A trio of Catamounts grabbed runner-up finishes. Annemarie Martell was second in the mile with a time of 5:06.43. Bill Comstock ran a time of 1:07.15 in the 500 meter dash for second place. In the men's 800 meter run, Tyler Marshall took second with a time of 1:55.07.
- The men's 4x400 relay team of Marshall, Steven Garcia, Zane Reservitz, and Chris Gish finished second with a time of 3:28.08.
- Andy Chess had a third-place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 4.30 meters.
- Vermont had third-place finishes in both of the men's and women's 60 meter hurdles. Alex Parasky ran a time of 8.67 seconds and Lauren Triarsi had a time of 9.28 seconds.
- Andrew Crompton finished third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:36.43. Neville Caulfield (6th) ran the race in 8:42.11.
- Chris Gish and Patrick Kitchen took fourth and fifth in the 1000 meter run with times of 2:29.66 and 2:29.85, respectively.
- Shane O'Connor placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 14.25 meters. In the weight throw, he finished fifth (15.12m).
- Chike Asanya was fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.26 seconds.
NOTES
- Gish (1000m), Kitchen (1000m), and Marshall (800m) were the three Catamounts to qualify for the ECAC/IC4A Championships.

Vermont heads to the Boston University Track & Tennis Center next week for the Valentine Invite. The UVM women will be competing on Friday (Feb. 14), followed by the men on Saturday (Feb. 15).
