AMERICA EAST AWARDS
UVM had four of its student-athletes and its head coach earn All-America East honors on Friday. The Catamounts won four out of the five major awards – Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach
John Becker was named Coach of the Year,
Anthony Lamb was selected as the Player of the Year,
Ben Shungu was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year, and
Ryan Davis was picked as the Sixth Man of the Year. Shungu also made the All-Defensive Team.
Stef Smith and Lamb were the only set of teammates on the All-Conference First Team.

REGULAR SEASON RECAP
Vermont finished the regular season with a 24-7 record and 14-2 mark in conference play. The Cats won 10 games during the non-conference slate to match a school record and received at least one vote in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll six times. The Green and Gold took down St. John's back in November for their first win over a high-major program since 2009. UVM produced a 12-game winning streak in America East play, which was the fourth-longest conference winning streak in the country.

SCOUTING MAINE
The Black Bears won their last two regular season games to earn the No. 8 seed. Maine finished the year with a 9-21 overall record and 5-11 mark in conference play. In conference play, Maine had the fourth-highest field goal percentage at 40.5%. On the defensive end, the Black Bears held their league foes to a 31.2% clip from long distance, the fourth-best percentage of any America East team. Classmates Sergio El Darwich and Andrew Fleming made the America East All-Conference Third Team. El Darwich led the team in scoring with 14.9 points per game and assists (4.1). Fleming followed with a 14.4 scoring average and paced the Black Bears on the glass with 6.2 boards per game. In the classroom, Mykhailo Yagodin was honored for his efforts with an America East All-Academic Team nod.

INSIDE THE PLAYOFF SERIES HISTORY
The Catamounts and Black Bears will meet in the quarterfinal for the fifth straight season and the 11th time overall. UVM is 7-3 against Maine in the conference tournament with six consecutive victories dating back to the 2004 America East Championship Game. The Black Bears beat the Cats in the 1994 Quarterfinal, 1996 Quarterfinal, and the 2002 Semifinal.
