Konstanze Wendeln were named to the America East All-Academic Team for the outdoor track & field season on Thursday morning.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have sophomore athletic eligibility, attain a 3.30 minimum grade-point average and be a contributor on their team. The squad is voted on by a committee made up of America East student-athlete support and athletic communications administrators as well as faculty athletic representatives.
Benner maintained a 3.76 GPA as a Natural Resources major. A senior from Needham, Massachusetts, Benner will graduate Sunday afternoon. On Monday, he was one of six Catamounts to be named an America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete. In addition to registering a 3.75 GPA for their college career, honored student-athletes must have received their undergraduate degree in the academic year they are honored and have attended their institution for a minimum of two years. Benner was also named to the Cross Country All-Academic team in 2018 and 2019.
Cannon, a Littleton, Colorado native, has maintained a 3.98 GPA as a microbiology major with a minor in molecular genetics and chemistry. She finished second overall earning America East All-Conference honors in the pole vault at the 2019 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Caulfield received the America East Elite 18 award for excellence in athletics and academics at the 2019 outdoor championships. He will graduate on Sunday with a 3.94 GPA as an English and Studio Art major. A native of Durham, New Hampshire, Caulfield was also honored as an America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete on Monday. Caulfield was also named to the 2019 America East Cross Country All-Academic team.
A South Hero, Vermont native, Wendeln has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Neuroscience major. The sophomore earned All-Conference honors at the 2020 Indoor Track and Field Championships placing third overall in the 5000m with a personal-best time.
This spring is the fifth time in program history that the Catamounts have had four or more student-athletes on the Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team. Vermont had a school record six student-athletes honored in 2012 (Alicia Clark, Sam Hoadley, Mike Grubert, Julie McGilpin, Morgan Powers and Kirsten Weberg).
