BOSTON - The America East Conference has announced that two upcoming women's basketball conference games have been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the UAlbany program including Vermont's upcoming contest at UAlbany scheduled for Sunday, January 2. Per America East policy, every effort will be made to reschedule postponed games. Rescheduled dates will be announced at a later time.
Vermont Athletics and all of its teams continue to follow state, local and University public health guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches, staff and the campus and surrounding community.
Vermont will begin America East play tonight as they welcome Maine to Patrick Gym for the first time since January 22, 2020. Tip is set for 6 p.m. and tickets are available at UVMAthletics.com. Fans can also listen live on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield IMG College on WVMT with Cooper Boardman on the call. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The University of Vermont is now requiring anyone in a campus building to wear a face covering - regardless of vaccination status. The policy went into effect on August 5 to aid in protecting our community from the spread of COVID-19. In order to ensure the safety of students, staff and the community, UVM is now also expecting that all vaccine eligible visitors to campus, including fans attending athletic events, will be fully vaccinated. Due to the ongoing health and safety protocols, concessions will be closed for the time being. No outside food will be permitted but fans are allowed to bring a reusable water bottle (maximum size 2 liters).
