Alisa Kresge announced Monday afternoon that senior guard
Josie Larkins will return to the Catamounts for a fifth season of eligibility next year. Larkins is eligible to return for a fifth-year due to the NCAA's ruling to give student-athletes a free year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are excited that Josie will be returning for another season in a UVM jersey and earning her graduate degree," said Kresge. "Josie has been instrumental in creating the strong foundation of our program and is an excellent example of what UVM student-athletes embody. Josie has developed into one of the top guards in the America East and been a teammate that challenges others to be better every practice. We are looking forward to next season with Josie's continued leadership, the return of our youthful team and the addition of three newcomers."
Larkins has played in every game of her college career, 95 straight for the Catamounts. She has also started 37 straight games for Vermont. This season she was second on the team in scoring averaging 11.5 points-per game and led the team the with four assists-per game. As a junior, she matched a single-season program record with 69 made three-pointers on the year. She finished the season second on the team in scoring with 13.2 points-per game … She was the eighth Catamount in program history to be named to the All-Conference Third Team.
