Box Score WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Corinne Zanolli scored twice for Stanford as the Cardinal defeated Vermont, 3-0, Saturday morning at Monmouth's So Sweet A Cat Field.
The Cats fall to 0-4 (0-2 AE) on the season while Stanford begins the year at 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stanford got on the board first thanks to Corinne Zanolli's first of the season just five minutes into the game.
- Vermont appeared to tie the game at 1-all in the second quarter but Clodagh Ferry's blast on a penalty corner was disallowed.
- Just 20 seconds later, the Cardinal tallied off a penalty corner of its own. Frances Carstens got credit for the goal on assists from Megan Frost and Sarah Johnson.
- Zanolli found the back of the cage for the second time as a crossing pass from Kaylie Mings found her stick at the eight-minute mark of the third quarter.
- Sierra Espeland made three saves in the final quarter to keep the Cats in the game late.
