The Vermont track & field program heads to Lowell, Massachusetts this weekend for the 2021 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The conference championships kick off at Cushing Field Complex on Saturday (May 1) at 10 a.m. and will continue on Sunday (May 2) at 9 a.m.

SPECTATOR POLICY & BROADCAST INFORMATION
Due to COVID-19 protocols, spectators will not be allowed at Cushing Field Complex for the 2021 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Fans can watch the conference championships live on
AmericaEast.TV. Coverage begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday with former Vermont broadcaster Michael Lehr on the call for both days. Â

BACK AT THE OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships are back after a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last edition of the outdoor championships took pace at UAlbany in 2019. Two Catamounts were America East Champions, and seven won All-Conference honors. The UVM men finished fifth with 88.5 points, while the women placed sixth with 62 points.

SNIDE DEFENDS THE DECATHLON
Vermont senior
DJ Snide looks to defend his decathlon championship from 2019. The then-sophomore entered Sunday's decathlon events with the lead and won the 100-meter hurdles and the discus to secure the title.

EYES ON THE WOMEN'S STEEPLE
The Catamounts own the top two steeplechase marks in America East entering this weekend's conference championships.
Phoebe Koski logged the fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time with a mark of 10:31.68 at UMass on April 16.
Jane Leighton posted a time of 10:32.06 for the second-fastest mark in the conference at the same meet. The two Vermont women's distance runners also registered the second and third-fastest times in program history.

CANNON A TOP FIELD PERFORMER
Marina Cannon earned America East Field Performer of the Week earlier this season. The senior registered a pole vault of 3.50 meters in a home meet on March 31. Cannon earned All-Conference honors at the outdoor championships in 2019 with a second-place finish and a pole vault mark of 3.40 meters. Her personal record is 3.55 meters, which was set at Holy Cross in 2019.
