LOWELL, Mass. – For the second straight day, a Catamount was victorious at the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships as Vermont's
Alex Parasky took first place in the men's decathlon. Sunday's events also saw five Catamounts combine for six All-Conference marks, as well as a school record set by
Alex Siaton in the men's 400.
The Vermont men (74 pts) and women (63 pts) both finished seventh in the overall team competitions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Parasky entered Sunday in first place and continued to hold his spot up front in the decathlon with a final score of 6,641 points – the second-highest total in program history. The graduate student won the 110-meter hurdles (15.46s) and javelin (49.42m), before closing out the event with a second-place finish in the 1500-meter run (4:45.14).
- Parasky also logged a third-place finish in the solo 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.16 seconds.
- Snide made a huge jump from fifth-place at the start of the day to earn a second-place overall finish in the decathlon with a score of 5,996 points. The senior won the discus (36.34m), and was second in javelin (48.70m) and the 110-meter hurdles (15.73s).
- Siaton secured the school record with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash. The first year posted a blistering 48.05-second mark to best Dan DeBlieck's time of 48.26 seconds set in 2017.
- Sonia John finished third in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 56.50 seconds to earn her first medal. John was also seventh in the 200-meter dash (26.26s) and ran on the sixth-place 4x400-meter relay team.
- Triarsi placed third in the women's heptathlon with 4,391 points to earn her first All-Conference honor. The sophomore was second in the long jump with a personal-best 5.57 mark to move from fourth at the start the day, into a spot on the podium for the multi-event.
- Mia Grasso logged a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.53. The junior registered a best time of the season.
- In the field, Kevin Mills narrowly missed the podium with a strong fourth-place finish. The rookie posted a 1.89-meter mark in the high jump for five team points.
