Silveira registered 10 saves last week as the Catamounts earned a pair of wins over their non-conference counterparts. The senior recorded a six-save clean sheet in Vermont's home-opening 2-0 win against Princeton on September 7. The UVM goalkeeper followed it up with a four-save shutout in the Catamounts' 1-0 win on the road at UMass (Sep. 11).
The East Providence, Rhode Island native is only one of four goalkeepers in Division I with a nation's best four shutouts. Silveira's save percentage (1.000) and goals against average (0.00) is also in a four-way tie for the best in the country. Of the four tied at the top, Silveira is the only goalkeeper to play more than three games, and the only with more than five saves on the season – Silveira has 19 stops in five games played.
Silveira and the Catamounts are one of only two teams yet to concede a goal this season. William & Mary is the other team with a spotless goals against average, but have only played one game to this point.
Vermont begins conference play on Saturday (Sep. 18) when it faces America East foe Stony Brook on the road at Lavalle Stadium. Kickoff against the Seawolves is slated for 6 p.m.
